Substitute Teacher

Substitute teachers are responsible for covering classroom duty when the classroom teacher is unavailable. Typically, the classroom teacher provides a plan that the substitute teacher carries out.

Harambee Christian School is seeking Christ-centered, dependable substitute teachers to provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. The substitute teacher will uphold the school’s mission, demonstrate a love for God and children, and maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for students in kindergarten through middle school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver lesson plans and instruction provided by the regular teacher
• Manage classroom behavior in a manner consistent with school expectations
• Maintain a positive, nurturing atmosphere that reflects Christian values
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administrators
• Adapt to various grade levels and subjects as needed

Qualifications:

• A professing Christian committed to integrating faith into teaching
• Experience working with children preferred
• High school diploma required; college coursework or degree preferred
• Flexible, dependable, and able to follow directions
