POSITION: Substitute Teacher
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal/Personnel Department
SUMMARY:
Instructs students and facilitates their learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans.
Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility. Communicates effectively with parents when needed.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
Completes other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must be 21 years of age and older to apply. Age requirement waived if applicant is currently enrolled in a teacher prep college program (proof of enrollment required).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 48 college credit hours or Work Keys Results.
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFOMRATION MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLLICATION. APPLICATIONS WITHOUT REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED.
Copy of Current Driver's License or State Issued Photo ID
Copy of Social Security Card
Copy of Educational Documents (Example: High School Transcipt, High School Diploma, GED Certificate, College Transcript, College Diploma, and Valid Teacher License)
*For applicants without the minimum of 48 colldege credit hours, a TABE test will be scheduled by the LCSD.
*After the new Sub-Teacher training, a background check must be completed by LCSD. Please be prepared to pay a fee of $32.00 (Cash or Check).
