Substitute Teacher(s)

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute! In order to serve as a substitute, you must meet one of the following criteria:

1. Be a retired teacher, who has not worked for at least 6 months, and has a teaching license.
2. Be a retired assistant teacher from HCPS who has not worked for at least 6 months.

3. High School Diploma, complete Effective Teacher Training, and provide a Character Reference Letter from someone you are not related to.

   Remember to:

   Be sure to include a copy of your High School Diploma/GED/Two-Year or Four-Year Degree/Transcript and the Effective Teacher Certificate (Required) if you do have a 4 Teacher License.

   All substitutes must complete the substitute application, complete a background check, approved by the board and attend orientation before starting.

   All substitutes must attend training annually.
