About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Subsurface Data Engineer to join their fully remote technical team. This role is essential for managing, integrating, and optimizing the vast amounts of subsurface data generated in the Oil & Gas industry. You will be responsible for designing and implementing data workflows, ensuring data quality, and developing databases and platforms that support geological, geophysical, and engineering analysis. The ideal candidate will be adept at handling complex datasets and collaborating virtually to enhance data accessibility and usability for exploration and production teams worldwide.

Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain robust databases and data management systems for subsurface data. Develop and implement automated data workflows for data ingestion, validation, and transformation. Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across all subsurface datasets. Collaborate with geoscientists and engineers to understand their data needs and provide solutions. Develop data visualization tools and reports to facilitate data access and analysis. Implement data governance policies and best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a significant portion focused on the Oil & Gas sector or subsurface data. Proficiency in database technologies (SQL, No SQL) and data warehousing concepts. Experience with data integration tools and ETL processes. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
