The Consumer Lending Operational Analytics (CLOA) team provides analytics, business intelligence, and data governance support across Credit Card and Consumer Loan Operations. The team transforms complex operational data into trusted, actionable insights that help leaders understand performance, identify emerging trends, improve operational efficiency, and make informed decisions.
CLOA’s work spans operational decision support, Power BI dashboard development and modernization, self-service analytics, data governance and quality, process automation, and emerging AI-enabled analytics capabilities. The team partners closely with operational leaders and cross-functional teams to develop scalable solutions that move beyond one-time analysis toward standardized, reusable insights.
The Summer Associate will work alongside analysts and leaders on a meaningful analytics or modernization initiative, gaining hands-on experience translating a business problem into an analytical solution. The role may include exploring and analyzing data, identifying trends and opportunities, developing visualizations or dashboards, evaluating opportunities for automation or self-service, and presenting findings and recommendations to business partners and leadership.
Potential Summer Associate projects may include:
- Operational Analytics & Insights: Analyze operational performance data to identify trends, drivers, opportunities, and emerging issues and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leaders.
- Dashboard & Visualization Development: Help design or enhance Power BI dashboards that provide leaders with intuitive, standardized views of key operational metrics and performance.
- AI & Analytics Innovation: Explore opportunities to apply AI to operational analytics, such as identifying trends, summarizing insights, improving work intake and routing, or helping users more easily interact with and understand data.
- Self-Service Analytics: Identify recurring analytical needs and help develop scalable dashboards, tools, or standardized approaches that enable business partners to answer common questions independently.
- Data Quality & Governance: Support efforts to improve the consistency, documentation, quality, and usability of critical operational data and metrics.
- Process Automation & Modernization: Evaluate manual or repetitive analytical processes and identify opportunities to streamline or automate them using modern data and analytics tools.
- Executive Decision Support: Help synthesize complex operational information into concise insights, visualizations, and storytelling that support leadership decisions.
The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later.
Support the development, enhancement, and modernization of operational analytics, dashboards, reporting, and data visualization solutions
Analyze complex data to identify trends, performance drivers, emerging issues, and opportunities for operational improvement
Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for business partners and leadership
Partner with analysts, leaders, and business stakeholders to understand business needs, define analytical requirements, and develop effective solutions
Assist with the design and development of Power BI dashboards and other self-service analytics capabilities
Explore opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve analytical processes, generate insights, and increase efficiency
Support data quality and governance activities to improve the consistency, reliability, documentation, and usability of operational data and metrics
Research and evaluate opportunities to standardize, simplify, or automate recurring analytical and reporting needs
Develop presentations, visualizations, and analytical storytelling that clearly communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Participate in cross-functional projects and team initiatives supporting the continued evolution of Consumer Lending analytics capabilities
Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate information, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions
Ability to translate data and analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and business-focused outcomes
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, quality, and validation of analytical work
Ability to work collaboratively with team members, business partners, and stakeholders
Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn new analytical tools, technologies, and business concepts
Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work effectively, and deliver assignments within established timelines
Familiarity with data analysis, data visualization, or business intelligence concepts
Experience with or exposure to analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, Excel, or similar technologies
Desired Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to organize, analyze, visualize, and communicate information effectively
Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, emerging technologies, and their application to business and analytics
Strong data storytelling and visualization skills with an ability to communicate insights clearly to varied audiences
Experience working with large or complex datasets and performing exploratory data analysis
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or self-service analytics concepts
Demonstrated creativity and curiosity in approaching ambiguous or complex business problems
Ability to independently explore a problem, develop potential solutions, and seek feedback to refine an approach
Interest in financial services, consumer lending, operational analytics, or business intelligence
