Summer Staff Ponderosa Lodge Lifeguard

Position Objective:

The PL Lifeguard ensures the safety and well-being of campers and staff swimming, and is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, providing for campers with an experience that aligns with the MHA Youth vision and PL’s objectives in a manner consistent with MHA’s mission, vision and values.

General Qualifications:

The Ponderosa Lodge (“PL”) Lifeguard is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming MHA’s Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings which include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Assist in the intake and screening of campers weekly.
• Ensure safety and well-being of all campers and staff using the pools, while enforcing pool rules within discipline philosophy of MHA Youth.
• Care for and maintain all pool areas, keeping logs and readings accurate and up to date.
• Promptly report any hazards or dangerous situations to the PL Lifeguard Lead.
• Any other duties as assigned by the PL Lifeguard Lead.
