Superintendent - Indianapolis, IN
Purpose
The Superintendent is responsible for providing planning, supervision, and documentation for the construction and renovation of water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure. This position provides the managerial support and leadership necessary to ensure safe, efficient, and successful project execution. The Superintendent is responsible for overall site safety, including compliance by subcontractors and vendors. This role is based around Indianapolis, IN. LPX Group headquarters is in Louisville, KY.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide on-site leadership for safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordination, cost control, and
adherence to company policies. - Direct day-to-day operations of field teams and subcontractors, ensuring quality standards and timely
execution. - Collaborate with Project Managers to plan, sequence, and monitor construction and procurement
activities. - Review construction documents, drawings, specifications, and subcontractor submittals for accuracy
and compliance. - Monitor and manage project budgets, approve field expenditures, and assist with change orders.
- Maintain detailed project documentation and promote clear, timely communication with all
stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proactively identify training and safety needs.
- Evaluate crew performance, provide mentorship to foreman, and resolve on-site challenges
effectively.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Superintendent on water or wastewater construction projects.
- 7+ years of hands-on field experience in water and wastewater treatment facility construction, underground utility construction, or related infrastructure work, preferably with a background as a carpenter, millwright, pipefitter, or foreman.
- Strong ability to interpret construction documents, drawings, and schedules.
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Procore or Vista is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills.
