Supermarket Operations Manager

Compensation: ₦150,000 – ₦250,000 per month

About the Role
Lightread Consulting is recruiting an experienced Supermarket Operations Manager to oversee daily store operations, staff, sales, inventory, supplier relationships, cost control, and customer service to ensure efficient and profitable performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily supermarket operations, store standards, and compliance with operating procedures.
• Supervise staff, manage schedules, monitor performance, and provide training.
• Track sales performance, analyse reports, and implement strategies to increase revenue.
• Manage inventory, stock replenishment, expiry dates, stock counts, and discrepancies.
• Coordinate suppliers, verify deliveries, and monitor supplier performance.
• Control operational expenses, reconcile cash collections, and reduce wastage and losses.
• Ensure excellent customer service and resolve complaints.
• Enforce loss prevention, security, health, and safety measures.
• Prepare operational reports, monitor KPIs, and recommend improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, HND, or equivalent in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Retail Management, or a related field.
• 3–5 years’ experience in supermarket, retail, FMCG, hospitality, or similar operations.
• Proven team leadership and operational management experience.
• Strong knowledge of inventory, retail sales, and customer service.
• Good numerical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; POS and inventory management system experience is an advantage.
• Strong integrity, organisation, accountability, and ability to work flexible hours when required.
