1st shift – Monday – Thursday 4:30am – 3:30pm / overtime as needed/required on Friday

Position Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating the daily activities of assigned production departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role oversees production processes, manages and develops team members, and works closely with cross-functional departments to meet operational goals, production schedules, and customer requirements. The Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and fosters a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence through direct leadership and support of production personnel.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee daily production operations to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals are achieved.
  • Develop and execute daily production schedules, effectively allocating labor, equipment, and materials to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop production employees, including training, performance management, employee engagement, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Enforce compliance with all company policies, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management systems, including ISO, AS9100, and ITAR procedures.
  • Monitor production performance metrics, including productivity, scrap rates, labor utilization, and costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of production reporting, labor tracking, departmental records, and other required documentation.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and other departments to resolve production, equipment, quality, and workflow issues.
  • Promote a safe, organized, and clean work environment while supporting injury prevention initiatives and return-to-work programs.
  • Manage employee attendance, scheduling, and time-off requests to maintain adequate staffing and meet production deadlines.
  • Communicate production priorities, process updates, and performance expectations while providing regular feedback and reporting operational results to management.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Conflict resolution experience and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Knowledge of 6S initiatives.

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory/leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate would have a solid background in the various foundry processes.
