Supervisor - Civil/Mechanical – Transmission Line
Summary
On-site supervisor overseeing civil and mechanical work for high-voltage transmission line projects, including foundation inspection, concrete pouring, and tower erection in Khavda or Surat.
Position Overview:
AECOM is looking for the position of Supervisor - Civil/Mechanical – Transmission Line, who will provide field-level supervision of foundation, stub-setting, civil works and tower erection within the assigned transmission line work front.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify tower location, foundation type, excavation dimensions and founding conditions.
- Check dewatering, soil condition, benching, shoring and excavation safety.
- Verify reinforcement, formwork, cover, anchor/stub templates and stub orientation.
- Check concrete grade, batching, slump, cube sampling, pouring, compaction and curing.
- Verify chimney dimensions, backfilling, compaction and site restoration.
- Monitor special foundations including pile, raft, rock-anchor or well foundations, where applicable.
- Verify tower member identification, assembly sequence, bolt installation and tightening.
- Monitor tower erection, crane operations, lifting sequence, temporary supports and guying.
- Check tower verticality, member damage, missing members, bolt punching and anti-theft arrangements.
- Ensure compliance with approved drawings, method statements and ITP requirements.
- Coordinate stage inspections with survey, QA/QC and HSE personnel.
- Maintain inspection checklists, pour cards, erection records and daily progress records.
- Identify defective or non-conforming work and report it to the Section In-Charge and QA/QC team.
- Support punch-point closure and final tower acceptance.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- Diploma or degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of transmission line construction experience.
- Experience in tower foundations, stub-setting and tower erection.
- Familiarity with concrete, reinforcement, lifting and erection inspection requirements.
The position will be site-based at Khavda or Surat and may require travel between project locations, contractor offices, manufacturing facilities and client offices.
The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary AECOM Energy team supporting the safe and successful delivery of major HVDC and transmission infrastructure projects.
