Supervisor of Web Content & Quality Assurance
IT positions located in the Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Technology and Survey Processing (OTSP) provide IT support to all aspects of BLS data development initiatives. BLS measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making.
This position is located in OTSP, Division of Enterprise Web Systems (DEWS). DEWS operates, maintains, designs, and develops BLS internet data dissemination facility (LABSTAT), internet data collection facility (IDCF), and central intranet facility (BLS Central). As a DEWS Branch Chief, Supervising Web Content & Quality Assurance work, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Staff Management: assigning and evaluating work, communicating expectations, strengthening professional growth, and promoting team collaboration. Quality Assurance: Ensuring all test procedures, software documentation, and defect tracking processes are accurate, complete, and compliant with standards. Web Content & Site Optimization: Overseeing web content management, utilizing appropriate tools and languages, and optimizing website performance and accessibility to align with user needs. Technology: Leading and determining feasibility of recommended technology, equipment, and software solutions.
