Summary
Supervises a warehouse team to receive, store, ship, and dispatch goods, ensuring safety, efficiency, and inventory accuracy using ERP systems and Lean/5S methods.

Position Summary
Coordinates the day-to-day activities of a team comprised of hourly and office support staffs who receive, handle, store, record, ship, and dispatch goods in and out of our main warehouse. Enters data into a database or other computerized ERP system, monitors warehouse activities and ensures effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and protection of equipment. Holds open lines of communication and makes recommendations for improvements. Prioritizes and assigns tasks to ensure that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules, targets are met. Supervises staff to ensure that all warehouse activities, and all machines and equipment operated, safely. Trains new workers in the organization's operating procedures and standards.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ensures safety and housekeeping of the assigned area and that all employees meet company established safety and quality requirements.
- Drives overall budgeted numbers for shipments, logistics and hourly associates.
- Reviews receiving and shipping activities using standardized processes.
- Ensures accuracy in inventory management through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Maintains and assures the orderly flow of materials received and customer orders shipped daily.
- Reviews storage capacities to ensure that consolidation is always considered when placing finished goods items into the warehouse.
- Coordinates daily activities of shuttle program between Taco Cranston and Taco Fall River locations.
- Collaborates with other departments to coordinate product movement and optimize order fulfillment.
- Monitors customer deliveries according to due date and dedicated customer shipment schedule.
- Schedules employee assignment workflow to maintain staffing efficiency.
- Reviews data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for solutions.
- Participates in meetings with carriers and other external partners.
- Cross-trains individuals to handle more than their standard department functions.
- Leads 5S efforts in accordance with Taco company goals for optimization and safety.
- Coordinates and assigns all finished goods picks to warehouse team for customer orders using virtual scheduler system.
- Loads all customer orders into less than truckload (LTL) & truckload (TL) trailers.
People Management
- Evaluates team members to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement; collaborate on development actions and ensure resources necessary to complete actions
- Cascades relevant and appropriate information about the company and department effectively and in a timely manner
- Coaches and mentors for skill and knowledge development
- Executes necessary responsibilities of team during absences or alternate engagement
- Ensures team adheres to company policies, practices, and department standards
- Assigns actions and ensure completion
- Reviews work quality and provides feedback and guidance to team
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate degree: significant applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 7+ years of experience working in a production/manufacturing warehouse environment.
- 5+ years of experience in various leadership roles and/or supervisory roles.
- Demonstration of progressive roles.
- Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of equipment, tooling, and processes in a warehouse environment.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, 5S and Continuous Improvement concepts.
- Prior use with various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) systems.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to the extent required to instruct production personnel with adequate clarity and detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimal travel may be required to other local warehouse locations
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Logistics or relevant field
- Six sigma yellow belt or higher certification.
- Prior work experience in an ISO (22000, 9000, 14001, etc.) management system.
- Certifications in leadership development.
- Forklift operator and / or material handling equipment license.
Work Environment
This role is located in a warehouse and material handling environment and involves extended periods of standing, walking and sitting while using computers and technology. There is exposure to moving vehicles, equipment and machines. Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant where large equipment and noise are prevalent. Safety gear is required in these areas.
This position reports into the site every day.
