Supervisor, Warehouse

POSITION SUMMARY: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Manager with managing, planning, and coordinating the activities of shipping, receiving and the stockrooms. This is a supervisor level position that has no direct reports and reports to the Warehouse Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages, plans, and coordinates all Warehouse activities.
  • Supervises and directs all assigned personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by orienting and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility for the maintenance and safety compliance of Warehouse facilities.
  • Assumes responsibility for ensuring professional business relations with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and external contacts.
  • Effectively supervises stockroom, shipping and receiving personnel, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of supervisory/management experience, including inventory management.
  • 6+ years of total related experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aviation parts/tooling inventory experience
  • Additional related training or education

  • Understanding of Company operations.
  • Knowledge of industry processes and part-specific information.
  • Knowledge of Practices specific to the industry and company.
  • Excellent leadership abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good communications abilities.
  • Able to use all related maintenance equipment and computer applications.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak Standard English for routine business correspondence and for producing work products.
  • Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes, and procedures.
