Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our maintenance workshop. The successful candidate will lead a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring that all vehicle and equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the workshop and maintenance team.
  • Assign, monitor, and ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair works.
  • Perform and oversee diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs of vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing are carried out according to maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct inspections to identify faults and determine repair requirements.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate the ordering of replacement components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and equipment history.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and maintain a safe, clean workshop.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to mechanics and technicians while promoting continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Diploma, Higher NITEC, NITEC, or equivalent qualification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in vehicle or heavy equipment maintenance, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, braking systems, suspension, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and repair manuals.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and safe workshop practices.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet operational deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising maintenance of commercial vehicles, heavy machinery, construction equipment, or fleet vehicles.
  • Valid Class 3 driving licence (preferred).
  • WSQ Workplace Safety and Health or other relevant safety certifications will be an advantage.
