Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Supervisor to lead and oversee a team of Inspectors conducting workplace inspections. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning inspection schedules, reviewing inspection reports, supervising daily operations, resolving operational issues, and ensuring continuous training and development of the inspection team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate workplace inspection schedules based on assigned locations.
  • Lead, deploy, supervise, and provide guidance to WSH Inspectors.
  • Review, approve, and ensure the accuracy and quality of inspection reports and enforcement actions.
  • Ensure reports are complete, accurate, and free from grammatical errors.
  • Resolve operational issues encountered during inspection activities.
  • Develop and implement training and competency development programmes for Inspectors.
  • Prepare and submit annual training plans and conduct quarterly training sessions.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with the Authority.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health regulations, contractual requirements, and internal procedures.

Requirements

Education & Experience

Diploma or Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum 5 years of Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) inspection experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience with the current employer, with good knowledge of operational processes.

Possess at least one of the following WSH qualifications:

  1. Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health (WSQ accredited)MSc in Safety, Health & Environment Technology (NUS)
  2. Bachelor of Environment Occupational Health & Safety (University of Newcastle)
  3. Bachelor of Science in Human Factors in Safety (SUSS/SIM)
  4. Bachelor of Science (Health, Safety & Environment) – Curtin University
  5. Bachelor of Science (Hons) Safety, Health & Environmental Management – Leeds Beckett University

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
