Supervisor
Job Summary
As a Food Operations Supervisor, you will be the driving force on the floor. You will oversee daily operations, lead and motivate the team, ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, and maintain the exceptional quality our customers expect. This is a hands-on role where you will split your time between administrative duties and leading by example right alongside your team.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and mentor front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure efficient team performance
- Assign daily duties and monitor team operations to maintain productivity and service quality
- Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, manage cash drawers, and ensure the facility is clean, organized, and fully functional
- Enforce strict health, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with HACCP and local health codes
- Conduct regular quality checks on food preparation and presentation to maintain high standards
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, minimize food waste, and ensure proper rotation of ingredients using FIFO methods
- Resolve customer complaints professionally to ensure positive guest experiences
- Assist in managing shift schedules and adjust labor levels in real-time based on business volume
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum of 1–2 years supervisory or team-lead experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry
- Valid Food Handler’s or Food Protection Manager Certification, or willingness to obtain immediately
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, and basic inventory applications
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-pressure environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift inventory weighing 30–50 lbs
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required
