SUPERVISORY ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Pay for first time hires to the Federal Government will typically be set at step 1 salary range for their respective grade level.

Supervises and directs Accounts Maintenance and Control functions verifying the accuracy, completeness, and validity of accounting transactions and vendor payments.

Interprets Accounts Maintenance and Control regulations, requirements, and policies, including changes, updates, and automated systems modifications, to ensure compliance.

Trains and assists lower-level accounting technicians with techniques to correct and process accounting inputs.

Ensures accuracy, propriety, and legality of accounting transactions through extensive review of documents.
