As an Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Division Chief), you will lead the team in providing expert guidance, direction, and support on policy and operational matters for immigration activities within the Directorate.

Manages major components of immigration operational programs and their support functions.

Directs operations related to the implementation of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).

Develops and implements new operational program activities or enhancements regarding field operations and day-to-day activities.

Serves as an expert or consultant to senior management officials on the resolution of extremely sensitive and complicated immigration issues.

Plans and directs major agency-level immigration projects and manages major components of immigration operational programs and their support functions.

Conducts extensive research and analysis on immigration policy, laws, and regulations to evaluate programs and initiatives.

Makes recommendations that may serve as the basis for new systems, legislation, regulations, or programs related to the various Field Operations Directorate (FOD) Programs.

Residency Requirement: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. This residency requirement states that candidates must have, for three of the last five years immediately prior to applying for this position; (1) resided in the United States; OR (2) worked for the United States Government as an employee overseas in a Federal or Military capacity, OR (3) been a dependent of a U.S. Federal or Military employee serving overseas. Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period: You may be required to serve a twelve-month probationary period upon appointment to this position. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
