Summary

Supervises a Border Patrol Intelligence Unit, directing threat analysis, intelligence operations, and interagency coordination to prevent illegal border crossings and enforce immigration laws.

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Spokane Sector Headquarters, Targeting and Intelligence Division, located in Spokane, WA. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. As a first-line Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), you will serve as a primary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8336 (c) and 8412 (d)) and be responsible for: Overseeing all aspects of Intelligence Unit shift operations, directing intelligence-driven enforcement activities, identifying threats and trends, coordinating collection and dissemination of intelligence, and providing operational threat updates and recommendations to management. Managing sector Border Intelligence Center (BIC) and Intelligence and Operations Coordination Center (IOCC) activities within the assigned area of responsibility, ensuring effective integration of intelligence and operational coordination. Coordinating with military and other law enforcement agency liaisons to schedule and direct work assignments for temporarily attached analysts and officers, and to synchronize joint intelligence and enforcement efforts. Fostering and maintaining liaison relationships with Federal, state, local, tribal, and other CBP partners, resolving interagency and jurisdictional issues, providing briefings on threats and transnational criminal organizations, and advising leadership on the impact of policies and laws on CBP and USBP operations.
