Relocation Authorized Position: All relocations will be placed on hold at the time of selection, as USBP awaits to receive funding. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. As a second-line Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Patrol Agent in Charge - Intelligence), you will serve as a secondary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (6C) and 8412 (d)) and be responsible for: Providing managerial oversight, supervision, and direction to all facets of the sector intelligence program and responses to the requirements set forth by Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence and Operations Coordination (OIOC). Collecting and disseminating information to and from OIOC, Office of Border Patrol (OBP), other sectors, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components, other federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement agencies. Providing the subordinate supervisors with policy guidance and direction for resolving complex problems, involving the interpretation of broad policy, procedures, laws, and regulations. Overseeing the preparation of forecasts and trends of illegal activity and initiating appropriate operational action to counteract, deter, or apprehend violators. Assisting sector staff in the formulation and development of intelligence objectives, and devising plans, policies, and procedures for the implementation of specific functions and programs.
