Supervisory Clinical Lab Scientist

The supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist exercises a full range of supervisory responsibilities in planning, directing and assessing work of subordinate staff. Assigns work based on priorities, requirements of assignments, and abilities of employees; provides advice and counsel, evaluates work of subordinates. Ensures compliance with accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements and establishes and monitors the quality of pre-analytical, analytical and post analytical processes.

Microbiology Duties may include but are not limited to: Ensures compliance with accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements Establishes and monitors the quality of pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical processed Initiating corrective actions as needed Executes performance and quality improvement project Verifies orientation, training and competency assessment of assigned staff Develop and updates technical policies and procedure manuals Ensures all staff and affiliate staff comply with accrediting and regulating bodies Adjust staffing levels or work procedures to accommodate resource allocation Manages document control Develop performance standards, position descriptions, and functional statements Responsible for technical and administrative management , including budget execution Interacts with administrative and clinical onsite personnel Exercises significant independent decision-making authority Effective interdisciplinary and interprofessional relations with other services Plans and schedules on-going work Chooses methods for achieving work goals, objective and management strategies Day to day supervision of highly complex test performance.
