Supervisory Correctional Officer (Deputy Captain - Complex)

Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities.

Serves as an advisor to the Warden and their staff in the formulation and implementation of institution policies, procedures and programs. Assists with the integration of these policies and procedures into the overall operations of the facility as well as the Correctional Services Department and keeps management advised of activities effecting institution programs. Assists in the planning, developing and administering of regulations which ensure strict security and control of inmates in living quarters, work areas, and leisure time activities. Responsible for assisting the Complex Captain in identifying Correctional Services' staff training needs and recommending appropriate training resources. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
