Supervisory Cybersecurity Specialist

Summary

The Supervisory Cybersecurity Specialist serves as a department head for the Naval Air Systems Command, overseeing cybersecurity policy, vulnerability management, and risk assessment. The role involves advising senior leadership on security posture and managing a team of subordinates.

You will serve as a Cybersecurity Department Head in the Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Division of COMFLTREADCEN.

You will have experience using Vulnerability Risk Assessment and Management (VRAM) tools and performing vulnerability management procedures.

You will promote awareness of cybersecurity policy and strategy among management, ensuring that sound cybersecurity principles are embedded in the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.

You will develop policy, programs, and guidelines for implementation and review existing and proposed policies with stakeholders.

You will advise senior management (e.g., Digital Group Head, Executive Director, Commanding Officer, etc.) on risk levels and security posture.

You will prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of network system(s) operations.

You will supervise and manage relevant security implications within the organization, specific program, or other area of responsibility by performing all supervisory duties expected of a senior civilian leader.

You will perform the full range of management responsibilities to include technical supervision of subordinates’ work efforts.
