Supervisory Economist/Supervisory Statistician (Economics)
The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. The position is located in the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Compensation and Working Conditions (OCWC).
Duties include but are not limited to: Plan resources and budgets and ensure efficient program operations. Monitor program timelines to ensure accurate, complete, timely outputs. Supervise staff, including assignments, performance evaluation, hiring, training, and discipline. Represent the Division internally to share information and resolve program issues. Present Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) data externally to agencies, industry groups, and safety professionals. Prepare and review publications, including press releases and technical reports. Manage production for major occupational safety and health statistical programs. Analyze data and produce reports on injury and illness trends. Protect confidentiality of sensitive injury and illness data. Advise leadership on national occupational safety and health trends.
