SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (CIVIL)

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as the Project Manager for the District's hydrographic survey program, overseeing surveys that support navigation channels, harbors, dredging, and other civil works projects.

Supervises the survey crews, dredge inspectors and coordinates all hydrographic survey work/projects.

Serves as the technical advisor on hydrographic survey procedures and standards.

Attends pre-bid and pre-solicitation meetings to discuss and clarify hydrographic survey requirements concerning scheduling, work layout, accident prevention and/or work progress.

Prepares correspondence and is responsible for all reports regarding survey activities.

Develops new techniques to analyze hydrographic surveys.
