Supervisory Fruit and Vegetable Marketing Specialist (Regulatory)

This position is located in a regional office of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) Division for the Fair Trade Practices Program. You will serve as a Regional Director and share the responsibility for administering the functions of the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act (PACA) and Produce Agency Act (PAA) in that area.

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

Participates with the Director of the Division in developing information and making recommendations for amendments to the laws and regulations that will promote orderly marketing of fruits and vegetables.

Reviews, appraises, and evaluates the handling of complaints under the PACA to determine if Division policies and procedures are being followed and every effort is being made to eliminate unfair trading practices.

Instructs marketing specialists on investigational trips concerning the conduct of highly complex license, reparation, and disciplinary investigations.

Responsible for ensuring that only responsible firms and individuals are granted a license and permitted in the marketplace to trade in fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables in interstate and foreign commerce.

Oversees staff responding to complex issues dealing with license denials, bonding, and employment restrictions.

Directs, reviews and oversees correspondence prepared by staff involving complex issues dealing with license denials and employment restrictions.
