Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Field Attorney)
This position is located in a Field Office of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative/technical supervision over subordinates engaged in investigating and negotiating voluntary settlements under the provisions of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and recommending formal action in cases with merit, providing counsel and opinion on cases in regard to the administration, interpretation, and enforcement of the NLRA.
As a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Supervisory Field Attorney), GS-0905-15, your typical work assignments may include: Communicating clearly and concisely to advise subordinates and answer questions involving interpretation of the NLRA, conducting settlement negotiations and advising staff on the totality of cases. Reviewing and answering questions related to the litigation, including trial preparation, subpoenas, pretrial briefs, trial work, post-hearing briefs, and legal motions Negotiating with parties in order to secure settlement agreements and making recommendations regarding the litigation before administrative law judges in unfair labor practice cases. Reviewing reports and case files to determine adequacy of evidence; thoroughness of investigation; case preparation and analysis; and propriety of recommendations for action or disposition. Supervising staff in investigations; ensuring the quality and timeliness of the processing of cases; planning and conducting training; and evaluating the performance of staff.
