SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the the Lifting and Handling Technical Division (C710) of the Deputy Lifting and Handling Department (C701), in the Lifting and Handling Department (C700) Code of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will be responsible for the overall management and oversight of strategic planning, maintenance engineering, waterfront engineering, rigging engineering and process improvements.

You will prepare recommendations for hiring, promotions, transfers, reassignments, recognition, and disciplinary actions.

You will review and approve crane certification packages prior to presentation to the certifying official.

You will provide long range planning necessary to ensure timely accomplishment of all nuclear and non-nuclear work.

You will advise the Lifting and Handling Deputy Director on technical lifting and handling issues.

You will be responsible for development and maintenance of a strategic plan, including a capital purchase program.
