Supervisory Health Scientist

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Health Scientist, you will: Provide leadership and oversight on all activities designed to create a drug-free workplace, including activities related to the efficacy of drug testing. Oversee and manage the Federal Government's development and management of drug testing guidelines. Serve as a recognized authority on scientific and technical guidelines for employee drug testing, laboratory certification, and employee assistance programs. Utilize program findings to direct development of new methods and approaches related to workplace substance use prevention. Develop position statements, testimony, analytical papers, and other materials related to drug testing, laboratory certification, workplace prevention, and safety issues. Direct professional staff and support personnel and perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities. Determine staffing and resource requirements, justify short- and long-range budget needs, and oversee periodic reviews of Division activities.
