Supervisory Health System Specialist (Access Manager)
The position is located in the Patient Business Services Department at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, in Phoenix, AZ. Incumbent Serves as a supervisor over Benefit Coordinators, Patient Registration (Outpatient/Inpatient/Emergency Department). The incumbent has responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating the effectiveness and directing the Access (Front End) Management functions. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Maintains working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and Private Insurance benefits to ensure that the facility is in compliance with Indian Health Service and DHHS regulations. Confirms the eligibility of patients in accordance with IHS and Phoenix Area guidelines. Obtains and verifies all alternate resources data necessary for patient billing. Interprets rules and regulations for alternate resources for patients. Performs continuous research and updates information involving changes in rules and regulations for collection of patient data and alternate resources.
