Supervisory Health System Specialist (Centralized Appointment Center)

This position is located at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, Division of Information Technology, Centralized Appointment Center, Phoenix, AZ. The purpose the position is to assure an efficient and accurate system of the Centralized Appointment Center; incumbent provides support and technical assistance to staff by evaluating, analyzing and coordinating the operations of the Appointment Center. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Health System Specialist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Performing supervisory duties such as, directing and overseeing the activities of the appointment center, management of the scheduling/appointing system, manage and monitor workload and assignments, evaluate employee performances, conduct training and orientation to employee of the appointment center. Responsible for continuous quality improvement duties such as, develop, implement, and maintain internal quality control system to measure effectiveness of the appointment center, establish and maintain production control to evaluate quantity and quality of workload accomplishments. Conduct operations analysis and improvement duties such as, compile data and prepare reports to review internal process and proposes improvements to promote efficiency and cost savings, monitor routine activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, conduct complex research of determining eligibility of patients, patient registration and billing to resolve discrepancies. Exercises delegated authority to make preliminary determinations in cases of questionable eligibility and third-party liability.
