Supervisory Health Technician (Surgical)
Summary
Supervise surgical staff, prepare operating rooms, and ensure patient readiness for procedures in a military healthcare facility.
About the Position: This position is located in Tacoma, Washington. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Advanced in hire may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
Supervise staff by setting and adjusting short/long term priorities and assigning work to subordinates based on the priorities, assignments, and available skills.
Develop performance objectives and evaluates the work performance of subordinates
Approve staff absences and certifies timecards.
Check to ensure patients have been prepped for surgery, and that there are no signs of respiratory, viral, clinical infection, or skin disorders that may delay or cancel surgery.
Select, assemble, and organize required supplies, equipment, and instruments for specific surgical procedure in accordance with operative work sheets, physician preference cards, and/or conferring with physician or charge nurse.
Open instrument sets, pours solutions, set up equipment, and makes adjustments to such equipment as electric coagulators, electric bone saws, operating microscopes, air power drills, defibrillators, and resuscitators.
