Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Compensation)
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent provides the highest level of technical guidance, tools, and products to the Department in the areas of pay, classification, and strategic compensation. Reviews wage data, to analyze, develop, and adjust special pay schedules. Provides advisory services to all levels of DoD, as well as other non-DoD Departments as needed..
As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Compensation) at the GS-0201-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Planning, coordinating, and executing DoD Special Schedules, General Schedule (GS) and Federal Wage System (FWS) Special Rates, and Foreign National (FN) pay setting programs. Recommending action on requests or proposals originating with private industry, Government Accountability Office (GAO), Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Personnel Management (OPM), the Federal Prevailing Rate Advisory Committee (FPRAC), the DoD Wage Committee (DoDWC), military and other departments and executive agencies, labor unions and local wage survey committees. Providing advice and assistance independently on problems concerning results of wage surveys, revised schedules and background information to others in the organization, representatives of Army, Navy, Air Force, Defense Logistics Agency, the National Guard Bureau and other departments and agencies, as well as to union officials. Mastering analytical and evaluative skills for the review and evaluation of recruitment and retention issues, special wage surveys and special wage rates to determine appropriate wage levels. Assigning work to subordinates based on position descriptions and work priority, assuring timely performance of a satisfactory amount and quality of work.
