Supervisory Human Resources Specialist

You will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist with Office of the Secretary of Interior. There are 3 vacancies for this position which will be filled in the Office of Human Capital (OHC), OHC Operations Division, Quality Assurance and Processing Branch. Duty location will be based on selectee's current DOI duty location.

At the full performance level GS-13 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Exercises full first-line supervisory authority over HR Specialists (GS-11) and HR Assistants, including planning and assigning work based on complexity and staff capability, evaluating performance, and ensuring accountability for results. Plans, assigns, and evaluates work involving the full range of HR processing functions, including complex personnel actions, pay-impacting transactions, onboarding, and employee lifecycle events. Monitors production metrics and error trends across multiple workstreams to identify systemic issues, including regulatory misinterpretation, system processing inconsistencies, and variations in case handling. Implements corrective actions and ensures consistent application of technical standards across the team to maintain quality and operational effectiveness. Provides technical and administrative direction, recommends personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, awards, and discipline, and supports employee development through coaching and mentoring. The position is suitable for telework and the incumbent may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
