Supervisory Human Resources Specialist

The Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Hiring Operations Team manages the end-to-end recruitment and hiring process for entry-level TSOs. The team develops and maintains nationwide TSO hiring business practices to facilitate the implementation of localized strategic staffing solutions at more than 450 federalized airports.

This Human Resources Specialist position is located within Human Capital (HC) Talent Management (TM), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to: Managing HR programs, subordinate personnel and other resources to meet program objectives and further HC's goal to provide quality HR services to the agency. Develops short-term and long-term plans to accomplish work and manager changes in management directives or available resources. Provides senior level advisory services to personnel at all levels on issues that often have agency-wide impact. Provides authoritative interpretation and instruction on laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Monitors, analyzes and evaluates program execution at subordinate level(s). Conducts policy reviews to evaluate effectiveness of policies and practices. Supervisory/Managerial Probationary Period Requirements: Unless previously completed, you must satisfactorily complete a one-year supervisory probationary period to continue in this supervisory/managerial position.
