Supervisory Insect Production Worker

A Supervisory Insect Production Worker provides first level supervisory guidance and oversight responsible for ensuring the optimum utilization of personnel on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis over Insect Production Workers at the assigned insect rearing facility.

The duties may include, but are not limited to:

Supervise and assist in operations connected with the maintenance of colonies and operations connected with expansion into mass production.

Train and schedule the work of USDA and/or cooperator employed workers.

Identify existing and potential problems, access, space and labor requirements; monitor condition of the equipment; and assists in cleaning, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading equipment.

Adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans.

Inspects completed work for quality and work order requirements, and reports possible or actual work delays to supervisor.

Participates in staff meetings to receive new policies and guidelines, personnel programs, production schedules, and new rearing strategies.
