Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (GMI Analyst)

Summary

Supervises a team producing finished intelligence on regional topics, develops policies, and briefs officials on mission progress and intelligence products.

About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at INSCOM National Ground Intelligence Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Supervises a Branch in the Asia-Identity Intelligence, and is responsible for planning, directing, controlling, reviewing and evaluating the work of an organization responsible for the production of finished intelligence on regional topics.

Develops specific policies and procedures and program submissions to meet mission requirements.

Briefs Army, DOD intelligence community and participating agencies' officials on organization mission and production.

Assigns work based on overall program objectives, priorities, skills and manpower availability.

Reviews operations, evaluates program effectiveness by review of reports, discussion with subordinates and consultation with customers serviced.

Maintains continuous contact with functional counterparts to ensure awareness of new policies, regulations and state-of-the-art developments affecting the programs supervised.
