Supervisory IT Specialist
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland.
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will: Establish program priorities, policies, and operational framework that govern desktop engineering activities, with a strong emphasis on workstation security patching, vulnerability remediation, and controlled deployment of software and configuration changes. Ensure desktop engineering staff plan, coordinate and execute workstation software deployments and security patches in a phased, tested, and communicated manner that minimizes enterprise-wide impact and disruption to the user community. Manage and provides leadership to the desktop engineering function, ensuring that desktop engineering services are effectively planned, coordinated, and executed to support HRSA's enterprise end user computing environment. Directs the work of federal desktop engineering staff and oversees contractor-performed technical services to ensure alignment with agency priorities, security requirements, and operational standards Develop, implement, and maintain desktop configuration standards, baselines, and software standards that meet business, operational, and cybersecurity requirements. Ensures consistent application of standards across the enterprise desktop environment Provide direct supervisory authority over assigned federal employees, including performance management, employee development, and workforce planning.Establishes clear expectations, priorities, and accountability to ensure staff are committed to efficient execution of work and delivery of high-quality desktop engineering services Support budgeting, acquisition planning, and contract management activities related to desktop engineering services, including development of Statements of Work (SOWs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and technical requirements
