Summary
Oversee conservation and natural resources programs at a military base, managing staff and contractors while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
About the Position: This position is with the Department Of Public Works located at Joint Base Lewis McChord. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 2 years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.
Supervise professional and technical staff and oversee contractor personnel. Plan, assign, and review work. Guide, advise, coach, teach, and empower individuals and teams.
Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs for conservation and natural resources management, to include wildland fire, endangered species, fish and wildlife, inventory, monitoring, permitting, and compliance activities.
Provide input to the annual work plan, develop five-year plans, and make adjustments as needed for the Environmental Division. Prepare a variety of documents, to include correspondence, reports, briefing slides, and policy statements.
Serve as the Chief, Environmental Division. Responsible for installation conservation, natural, and cultural resources management.
