SUPERVISORY NAVAL ARCHITECT
Summary
The Supervisory Naval Architect leads a team of engineers and technicians within the Ocean Engineering Department, overseeing structural engineering projects, budgets, and schedules. The role involves providing technical consultation and ensuring project objectives are met for the deep submergence program.
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NAVAL ARCHITECT in the OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
You will perform planning and supervisory duties in the Structural Engineering and Naval Architecture Branch.
You will supervise approximately ten (10) engineers and technicians.
You will make continuing analysis of the state of development of the theory and experimental solutions to problems, the trends in performance requirements, and resulting problems.
You will perform functions such as preparing budget, manhour estimates, project schedules, set performance standards, approve leave, efficiency ratings, planning and preparing reports on progress of the branch and preparing technical correspondence.
You will act as a consultant on problems arising in several different areas of structural engineering and naval architecture.
You will decide which of the existing analyses requested by the customer will be performed on the basis of their value in solving the particular problems at hand and their value to ocean engineering and the deep submergence program.
You will serve as a member of the technical leadership team within the organization.
You will support the project mngr. for assigned projects including maintaining management level attention to total program which will consist of analysis of the gross technical objectives, project schedules, delinquencies, material procurement, etc.
