Supervisory Physician (Hospitalist)

About the Position: This position is located at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Director for DMS, Department of Internal Medicine at Fort Belvoir, VA. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Acts as the gatekeeper to Inpatient Medicine Services for clinics, Emergency department and at the organization's areas of responsibility.

Serves as a Medicine Consultant for Inpatient Services.

Determines staffing needs

Develop inpatient policies and procedures.

Conduct thorough studies of patients presented with medical management problems based on the level of professional ability.

Provides supervision and consultative advice for professional and administrative matters for patients in Medicine Services

Evaluates work performance of subordinate physicians, nurses and administrative staff as determined by the organizational structure.

Monitors work of supervisors, leaders, team chiefs, group coordinators, committee chairs and/or personnel as needed.
