Supervisory Program Specialist
This position is located in the Business Office and serves as the Manager of the Portland VA Medical Center Telephone Access Program. The incumbent is responsible for development, coordination, and implementation of all systems related to the patients' care experience via phones, Audiocare and other such programs.
This is an open-continuous announcement. Positions will be filled as they become available. Major duties include, but are not limited to: Effectively and efficiently manage the day to day administrative and technical operations of the Telephone Access Program. Assures all patient care calls meet all local and national standards of performance. Responsible for creating a streamlined service that eliminates unnecessary duplication and rework related to patient phone access. Actively engages in planning for program growth and adjustments for new requirements. Responsible for the update, maintenance, and creation of all Audio care changes and requests. Develops policies and procedures that accurately describe and support the goals of the Telephone Access Program. Serves as the coordinator for use of applications training, set up, and revision for all telephone requests. Develops matrix measures to monitor outcomes, provides ongoing analysis and evaluation of effectiveness and efficiency of the program. Creates work assignments, leave approvals, develops performance standards, planning, scheduling, resolving complaints, and recommending disciplinary actions. Provides on going training and guidance on implementation of VA directives to the professional and administrative staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
