This position is within the Bonneville Power Administration's (BPA) billing organization, under the Chief Operating Officer > Business Management & Development > Customer Support Services > Customer Billing. You will lead the team handling precise and prompt billing for power and transmission customers. As the Supervisory Public Utilities Specialist, your primary duties will include: Strategic Team Leadership: Guide a team of skilled professionals, directing workflow, setting priorities, and developing schedules to meet critical deadlines for both power and transmission customer billing. Mentorship and Development: Evaluate team performance and provide coaching, and instruction to foster employee growth. Identify training needs and create development opportunities to build a highly effective and motivated team. Process and Quality Improvement: Actively innovate and find ways to enhance the quality and efficiency of billing operations. Develop and implement new performance standards to ensure top-tier results. High-Level Representation: Serve as a key representative for Customer Billing in meetings with managers across BPA, officials from other federal agencies, and executives from public and private utilities throughout North America. Talent Management: Shape the future of your team by interviewing and recommending candidates for promotion and new positions, ensuring you have the right talent to achieve your organization's goals. Policy and Systems Oversight: Develop and oversee customer billing policies, standards, and internal controls. Sponsor and provide guidance for major billing system projects, ensuring seamless integration with financial, metering, and scheduling systems. Cultivating a Collaborative Culture: Create and maintain a positive, team-oriented atmosphere focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction, fostering productive relationships within and outside the organization. Conflict and Grievance Resolution: Address and resolve employee complaints and concerns, promoting a fair and equitable work environment and escalating more serious issues as appropriate.
