Supervises a team managing government records, ensuring compliance with federal laws and policies while overseeing digitization and destruction contracts.
This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Audit Policy and Quality Assurance. As a Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist you will be responsible for supervising and managing a staff of Records and Information Management Specialists and records management professionals. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and provides coaching, mentoring, and a full range of guidance in the functional programs of records and information management, and forms management.
As a Supervisory Records and Information Management Specialist, MS, 0308, 1, your typical work assignments may include the following: Oversees and directs the work of records management specialists and contractors, including reviewing, assessing, and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of programs, initiatives, and operations. Oversees the development, staffing, effective implementation, and oversight of agency policies, processes, and procedures as they pertain to an agency-wide records management program at the direction of the Supervisory Records and Information Management Officer. Serves as the Agency Records Officer in the effective implementation and oversight of records management special projects and leads matrix initiatives, integrating the work of staff members in the evaluation of the impact of the Federal Records Act and regulations on the agency and assessing privacy risks associated with programs, operations, and technology, including creating records management-related training for agency staff. Oversees contract requirement for records management shred destruction and digitization needs, including developing statements of work; collaborating with the Contracting Officer on the negotiation, award, administration, and evaluation stages; and monitoring contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
