Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for working closely with our suppliers to ensure we deliver cost-effective, high-quality products that meet our customers’ needs. The SQE will provide support to the Supply Chain organization relating to improvement of suppliers' quality as well as providing a quality interface, expertise and support to suppliers. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.

Major Job responsibilities include (while not limited to):

• Perform source inspections on a wide range of components at suppliers throughout New England.
• Team with Engineering and Procurement to develop supplier metrics to track and improve supplier performance.
• Understand key aspects of managing and assuring supplier quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery, and service while acting as the primary SQE at these suppliers
• Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as Colt’s Engineering, Operations and Procurement teams.
• Collect/Compile statistical data and drive continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier to prevent escapes, and in support of reduced cost and lead-time.
• Require and coach suppliers to find root cause and implement irreversible corrective / preventive actions on all quality and delivery issues.
