Supplier Quality Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure supplier quality performance, drive process improvements, and support manufacturing excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain compliance with quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Quality & Process Management
Monitor and improve supplier quality performance to ensure compliance with company and customer requirements.
Review and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) checklists and inspection standards.
Prepare supplier change requests, deviation documentation, and quality-related records.
Review production processes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Process Validation & Change Management
Review, initiate, and coordinate Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and process changes.
Update and maintain Process Control Plans (PCP) and related quality documentation.
Ensure process validations are conducted effectively prior to implementation.
Quality Investigation & Problem Solving
Lead investigations into supplier defects, customer complaints, and internal quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
Perform root cause analysis and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings with cross-functional teams to determine product disposition and corrective actions.
Coordinate part replacement, containment, and screening activities at customer sites, third-party facilities, and warehouse inventory.
Support Returned Material Authorization (RMA) investigations and related SAP transactions, including Certificate of Conformance (CoC) requests.
Continuous Improvement
Maintain and update Work Instructions (WI), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), inspection standards, and quality documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve supplier performance, and enhance manufacturing processes.
Auditing & Compliance
Plan and lead internal process audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
Monitor corrective actions and verify timely closure of audit findings.
Support Customer Quality Engineers (CQE) during customer audits and ensure effective follow-up on audit actions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management, Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, and Part Fabrication teams to resolve quality issues.
Provide quality guidance and training to production and assembly personnel.
Follow up with process owners to ensure timely closure of quality reports, corrective actions, and Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical/Electronics, or related discipline).
Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA, SPC, Control Plan, and CAPA.
Experience in supplier quality management, process audits, and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality management systems is an advantage.
Experience using SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.

Working Hours : 8.15am to 5.30pm (Mon-Fri)
Location : Changi North
