Position Description

  • Provide solid data feedback using a wide variety of quality tools to support manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, incoming inspection, and our suppliers
  • Use your practical, hands-on engineering knowledge to support manufacturing in both proactive and reactive roles by means of the scientific method of problem solving
  • Conduct supplier quality audits of existing and new suppliers to accurately assess the health, consistency, reliability and overall performance of the supplier
  • Work in a variety of areas including metal cutting, MIM, PM, and plastics to develop and strengthen relationships with our suppliers
  • Create, follow through upon, and close NCMRs
  • Lead First Article Inspections through communicating requirements of the drawing and design to the supplier
  • Continuously support our incoming inspection department related to measurement and process improvements
  • Assist internal quality engineers with containment & work around opportunities while focusing on solving the root cause
  • Minimal travel required up to 5%

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of an Associate's degree in Engineering. Possess or be working toward a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Materials engineering. An ASQ Certification in engineering is acceptable in lieu of a BS in Engineering. An extensive, proven work history in the requirements listed below will be considered in lieu of a degree and/or ASQ certification
  • 4 -- 10 years of floor level, hands-on supplier quality and/or manufacturing experience is required
  • Tool and die background a significant plus
  • Must possess a strong working background with inspection tools/methods and ASME Y14.5M GD & T
  • Experienced in setting up and conducting a first article submission
  • A genuine belief in continuous improvement and disciplined processes, with a willingness to analyze, challenge and change processes, if needed, to create a more efficient environment and culture
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple projects and objectives successfully
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to influence individuals and groups at all levels of our organization with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be highly motivated and driven -- accomplish tasks and report data with little or no supervision
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, statistical tools and related software
