Job description

Supply Chain Business Partner
Wolverhampton, West Midlands

Safran Actuation Systems UK is a world class centre for the design, manufacture and support of actuation and flight control solutions used across commercial, military and rotary platforms. With major sites in Wolverhampton and Banbury, our teams play a critical role in delivering innovative, reliable and safe systems that keep aircraft performing at their best.

Our UK Actuation business brings together engineering excellence, advanced manufacturing capability and a proud heritage within the aerospace sector. Whether supporting major global programmes or developing the next generation of actuation technologies, our people are at the heart of everything we do.

As part of Safran's global network, joining Safran Actuation Systems UK means becoming part of a highly skilled, collaborative and forward thinking team with opportunities to grow, innovate and make a meaningful impact in the future of aerospace.

Your role:

As a Supply Chain Business Partner, you will act as the key Procurement interface for a designated Value Stream, partnering closely with operational and leadership stakeholders across the business.

You will provide a single, trusted point of contact into Procurement for operational supply-chain matters, ensuring that issues, risks and priorities are clearly understood, appropriately owned and effectively communicated.

You will build strong relationships across the Value Stream and Supply Chain organisation, translating operational requirements into clear Procurement priorities and ensuring that business needs are reflected in procurement activity and supplier management.

The Business Partner does not need to own every Supply Chain issue. They need to ensure the Value Stream understands the Supply Chain position, the right issues are prioritised, the right function owns the action, and emerging risks are addressed before they become escalations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary Procurement contact and trusted business partner for the designated Value Stream
• Develop a strong understanding of Value Stream's operational priorities, requirements, risks and challenges
• Provide clear, concise and timely communication on Procurement and supply-chain matters affecting the Value Stream
• Coordinate the management of issues with the relevant Procurement teams, ensuring that each issue has clear ownership, actions and timescales and holding the owner of that action to account
• Monitor progress against agreed actions and challenge where appropriate to ensure timely resolution
• Identify issues requiring escalation and ensure they are escalated through the escalation process
• Translate complex procurement and supply-chain issues into clear business impacts, risks, actions and timelines for operational stakeholders
• Ensure relevant Procurement teams have a clear understanding of Value Stream priorities and operational requirements

But what else? (benefits, specificities, etc.)

Looking after the people who make Safran great is our priority. We offer a range of flexible benefits designed to support you, both in and out of work, including:

• Competitive salary
• Company performance bonus scheme
• Pension scheme - up to 10% employer contribution
• Private medical insurance
• Comprehensive health cash plan
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays
• Flexible benefits programme
• We support your ambitions with training, development, a personalised career plan and mobility opportunities.

Candidate skills & requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, commercial principles and supplier management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at multiple levels of an organisation.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain visibility of issues through to resolution.
• Ability to challenge constructively and escalate issues appropriately when required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capability.
• A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across Procurement, Supply Chain and operational teams.
• Understanding of governance, compliance and risk within a procurement environment.

Here, we craft excellence together.

We understand that diversity and inclusion make teams stronger. We are committed to fair and equitable employment practices for everyone.

We know that some candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert. We encourage anybody to apply if you can demonstrate a variety of skills and experience relevant to the requirements of this role.

Please let us know if you would like to discuss any reasonable adjustments to the hiring process that may better facilitate your participation.
