Position: Head of Supply Chain Management
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Head of Supply Chain Management to lead the end-to-end supply chain function, overseeing procurement, sourcing, inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, and supplier relationships. This role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted supply, optimizing operational efficiency, managing costs, and supporting business growth while maintaining compliance with quality, regulatory, and operational standards.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the supply chain organization, driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company's end-to-end supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives and production requirements.
- Lead procurement, planning, inventory management, warehouse, logistics, and supplier management functions.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement, digitalization, and supply chain optimization.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics to improve service levels, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Develop strategic sourcing plans to ensure the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, equipment, and indirect materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international suppliers.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, contract negotiations, and performance management.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers to strengthen supply continuity and mitigate supply risks.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Inventory, Planning & Warehouse Management
- Oversee inventory planning and warehouse operations to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and stock shortages.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Sales, and Planning teams to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Improve inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and inventory turnover.
- Monitor finished goods and raw material availability to meet customer demand.
Logistics & Distribution
- Lead domestic and international logistics operations, including transportation, import/export activities, customs clearance, and freight management.
- Ensure on-time delivery performance while optimizing transportation costs.
- Build strong relationships with logistics providers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
- Improve logistics efficiency and customer service through continuous process optimization.
Supplier Performance & Risk Management
- Establish supplier performance evaluation systems covering quality, delivery, cost, and service.
- Monitor supplier compliance and collaborate with Quality teams to resolve supplier-related issues.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply continuity and business resilience.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GMP, Quality Management Systems, Environmental Management Systems, Occupational Health & Safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across procurement, warehousing, logistics, and planning processes.
- Support ERP optimization and supply chain digital transformation initiatives.
Financial & Cost Management
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and supply chain operating costs.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, inventory optimization, and logistics efficiency.
- Monitor procurement spend, inventory carrying costs, and supply chain performance metrics.
Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Build succession plans and strengthen organizational capabilities across the supply chain function.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree (MBA or Supply Chain Management) is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or Operations within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing end-to-end supply chain functions.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG, healthcare, food manufacturing, chemicals, or other regulated manufacturing industries is highly preferred.
- Strong experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management, inventory planning, warehouse operations, and international logistics.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and supply chain planning tools.
