Job Summary
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager or Director, you will manage BOM costing, supplier negotiations, and logistics coordination to ensure accurate inventory and timely delivery of electronic components.
Responsibilities
- Consolidate Bill of Material (BOM) costing within designated timeframes to support budgeting and procurement accuracy
- Propose alternative electronic component manufacturer part numbers (MPNs) to optimize BOM cost and availability
- Manage and update the BOM database using Excel and SAP systems to maintain data accuracy and integrity
- Maintain SAP system data integrity by regularly verifying and correcting inventory and procurement records
- Negotiate with suppliers on cost and lead time, escalating issues promptly to ensure supply chain efficiency
- Monitor and coordinate logistics movements of electronic components and materials to support production schedules
- Conduct stocktaking, re-packing, and labeling of received electronic components and materials to maintain organized inventory
- Liaise with suppliers on Return Material Authorization (RMA) and quality rejects to resolve commercial and quality issues
- Maintain the office’s material holding and inventory storage areas to ensure proper organization and accessibility
- Manage supplier relationships on all commercial matters to foster collaboration and secure favorable terms
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a relevant field
- 1 to 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or supply chain roles within EMS/CM sectors
- Knowledge of the EMS electronic market and competitors is advantageous
- Familiarity with SAP system is an added advantage
